Keoke and the Manti Pageant

Thursday, June 25, 2009

This past Saturday Josh and I had quite a big day. First of all, we headed to the SL County Animal Services to look for a cat. The adult cats are free this month... but we gave into our weakness and got a kitten instead. We named him Keoke (K-oh-kee) which is Hawaiian for "quick runner" HAHA. He is about 3 months old and is a grey and white tabby with a little bit of tan in his coat. He is such a fun addition to our family and we love him to peices. He loves chasing strings, playing with his jingle bell balls, attacking your feet from his hiding place under the bed, and napping in daddy's lap.

Also on Saturday, Josh, Tracy and I trekked down to Manti for the annual Morman Miracle Pageant. I had never seen the pageant, so I was super excited. By the time we got there is was pouring rain and everything was soaked. We stoppd in Ephraim and the Walmart. We needed a leash for Keoke and Tracy decided to get a tarp to put down in case the ground was wet. We also got some cat toys and such. thanks heavens we decided to stop. The cat toys kept Keoke entertained while we waited out the rain in the car, once the rain did stop and we found a good spot on the grass, the tarp was perfect to keep us dry, and Keoke wanted to run and play, so we were so glad we had that leash. YAY. It was a pretty good day. It got a bit cold and I had to keep moving around to stay warm, but it was great. Everyone had such a great time.

Oh, and happy fathers day again to Josh, my daddy, daddy Curtiss, all the grandpas in my life and everyone else enjoying the wonders of fatherhood. You are truely appreciated, more than you may know. :)

Air show, Kittens & a Baby

Friday, June 19, 2009

So a couple weeks ago Josh and I went to an airshow up at Hill Feild, and it was such a blast. YAY. I'll put some pictures up. Also, last Friday was our one month anniversary. We just had a nice dinner and spent some quality time hanging out, but it was great. Oh, we are looking around at some kittens. Yeppers, we are getting a pet, and it was actually Josh's idea. (little butterflies in my tummy again) There is a place we want to go to tomorrow that has them super cheap and they come all immunized, microchipped, fixed, with toys and collars and food. It would be perfect. Wish us luck! Other than that we don't have too much news. Oh, and FYI for those rumours going around... no there is no honeymoon baby!! Despite what Jordan has been trying to leek. HAHA. But it was a good smile for a while there... until Heidi got a little frustrated with Josh being elusive. Sorry Heid! But yeah, thats about it. Love you all!

Okay, I know you are all dying to get an update on how the wedding went and what kinds of fun we have had on the honeymoon and at our new home. Weel alright then, I'll update already! HAHA.

First of all, the wedding was AMAZING!!! I wont bore you with all the tiny details that I remember in my crazy head, but here are the basics! First, I would like to publically thank Jamie, Jake, Tiffany, Tracy, mom Jackson, Heidi and Josh for staying up so FREAKING late the night before putting together flowers and finishing the cake. Holy monkey, I was half delirious and Josh made me go to bed, but I'm sure the others stayed up way later... THANK YOU! the morning of Josh, Tiff and I got ready and took off to Temple Square to do our pictures. It was great and you can see a couple shots from there below. After we grabbed my favorite pebble ice and headed to my grandparents house in Bountiful for the luncheon. Most everyone was already there setting up and the place looked so amazing. It was so relaxing to sit and eat and visit with everyone. Afterwards we headed for the reception hall and did a bunch of pictures of groups and family. The ceremony was after that and I was all kinds of emotional before I stepped out there... then I saw my friends from work and the tears broke out. Thanks for coming girls!! The rest of the ceremony was beautiful and Josh was crying just as much as I was HAHA. The reception turned out really great and tons of people came to support us. I'm so thankful for all of them and thier support of our special day. More pictures are below as well as at our new shutterfly website http://tacyandjoshjackson.shutterfly.com GO SEE!!!!

The honeymoon was really enjoyable as well. We stayed in SLC the first two nights at a hotel. We got our apartment keys on the 14th and then took off for Lava Hot Springs!!! We stayed at this amazing hotel, Lions Gate Manor. I highly recommend you ALL go there! Fantastic! We hung out in the hot pools and mostly relaxed. On Friday we took off for West Yellowstone and ended up staying in this nice little place there. In the park we saw tons of Bison, Elk, and hot pots. We even saw a grizzley bear and a black bear! There was a cute little yellow fox that trotted by our car and then at another place there was a couple wolves holding an elk hosage on an island in the middle of a small lake. It was great! There was still a lot of snow on the east side of the park and Yellowstoe lake was still frozen over, but it was like 65 the whole time. It really was a really nice vacation and we had a lot of fun!

We moved everything into our house the next Monday and we are proud to say all of the boxes are gone and all of our decorations have been hung up. YAY! We love our new little home and are so excited that we have finally been able to start our life together! If anyone wants to come down, we have a pool, volleyball, basketball, tennis, kids park, BBQ pits, hot tubs, raquetball... all kinds of stuff to do! We could have a blast!

Hello All :) Well, only FOUR days to go... can anyone believe how fast it has gone by? When did I start counting down **goes to check** First blog entry was on September 20. I hadn't put a count in the body, but I figured it was 233 days to go... I like TODAY's count much better. :) Well, let me get everyone up to date. Today is Friday, my last day of work until after the honeymoon. I haven't been able to do a whole lot this week, for two reasons. Number one: most of the stuff left to do cannot be done until the night before or the morning of. and Number two: most of the things I CAN do now were taken up to Josh's house. So I dont have access to them. Shoot. All well. I officially had my first Bridezilla breakdown last night. Pretty sure I was curled in a ball on my bed sobbing through the phone to my poor Joshy. Sorry baby, I just had to let it out. HAHA. But I'm much better now, and Josh always knows what to say to make me feel like everything will be okay. And I love that. It really helped me last night. So we have our rehearsal for the ceremony tomorrow morning, and then my bachelorette party tomorrow night. As far as honeymoon plans, we may make a last minute change. It's supposed to snow in Yellowstone on Saturday... and that is NOT what I planned for my honeymoon. All I wanted was a warm sandy beach. Granted, plans change and we can't get everything we want, so I have compromised and accepted another option. However, I refuse to frolic in the snow on my honeymoon... sooo... Josh and I are brainstorming ideas. For the most part, everything else is okay. We are having trouble getting tables for the luncheon, which is kinda freaking me out right now... and Josh brought up an issue that his entire half of the guest list for the ceremony will be standing with us in our line... So now he is having thoughts that we sould invite more people. That may turn out completely chaotic because who would he pick and choose between? We cannot fit all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins in for the ceremony. There are not enough chairs (or standing room). But he can't pick two or three families and leave the rest out... this is kinda a disaster. No stress. No stress. No stress. No stress. no stress.... I need to go take a breather... Love you all. I hope I can update again before the big day. But if not, I'll see you there! Only 4 days to go!

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Hello all :) Well, we have had a crazy few days. Let me update you :) Saturday was my birthday, and we got some boxes and bins out of my house and down to the storage unit. Then we went to my parents house and my dad made his famous hashbrowns and eggs. YUMMY! I got to show my Bridal pics to my mom, dad and sister and they were excited. Later, we went to Josh's house and hung out. Everyone there got to see the pictures and it was fun! Josh and I went out for ice cream and fries, and stopped by Bed, Bath and beyond to choose new towels cause the ones we wanted were discontinued. All well. Later on we just watch a movie at home and ate Pita Pit (so good, but next time only eat half!) Jamie and Tiffany came in with a tub of ice cream and candles and sang to me HAHA.they were so sweet and even brought me a HUGE bag of Sour Patch Kids YES!!!! lol. It was a pretty dang good birthday.
However, yesterday was not so good. UGH Our flower shop called and said they can't get our flowers (WHAT?!?!?!?!?!). They can get the white and green flowers fine, but the pink flowers (Gerbs) they can't get as many as we want. We went back and forth about it, changed up our arrangements and amounts, and resubmitted everything. I'm scared to death we won't get them on time now (less than 2 weeks). I'm praying hard about it. But the good news is... if we do have an issue, we know Smith's carries something that will work - thats where we got my Bridal shoot bouquet. HAHA.
I submitted our order for the enlarged pictures we need for the reception. I also submitted our final guest book and about 50 4x6 sized pictures for the frames and albums at the reception. We are so close!!
Oh, if any one knows where we can find paper lanterns, please let me know!
Oh, and we have 13 Days to Go!

Friday, April 24, 2009

As promised, I'm posting about the Bridal shoot I had on Tuesday. :) I got off work at 12:00 and met Josh and Tiffany at my house. Josh left and went to work, and Tiffany curled my hair and got it looking all cute! We made sure I had all my stuff together, and then once her mom got there we took off. We stopped at Smith's and grabbed a bouquet of green and white and yellow flowers, aand then a separate one of pink mini gerbers. After a quick stop at Michael's for ribbon and pins we were on our way to Thanksgiving Point. Tiffany pulled all the yellow flowers out and replaced them with the pink, wrapped up the stems, added an accent ribbon and some pins, and produced the amazing bouquet in the pictures below. YAY
When we got there we went in to get me all dressed and laced up. When I came back down the grand staircase, Joe my photographer was there and a few other people were in the lobby. Everyone was looking at me. HAHA. We got everything situated and then took off to start the shoot. There were a lot of kids around and they kept calling me princess. :) Tons of older people were enjoying the gardens as well, and the women kept telling me I looked gorgeous and the men kept wanting to be in the picture with me. HAHA There were a couple places that we took pictures that I LOVED. And I should get my pictures back today so I can see what they look like. I'm so excited! Lots of kids kept waving at me and one little kid said I looked like Cinderella. awwww. They were so cute! We were running out of light right at the end, and so we were running a bit to get to the last photo spot Joe wanted to shoot. There is this huge lawnhill that goes right up to the club house, and we ended up having to run up it. HAHA. We stopped half way and took a few pictures. The lawn has tulips lining both sides and it was so gorgeous. Then we kept going up the hill and there were three teenage girls, each with a camera, and they were snapping pictures of me like crazy. Strange but funny. Once we go to the top Joe shot a few more pics of me by the clubhouse, then a couple of me showing off my ring. Then I suggested some of my bouquet in front out of focus and then focusing on me. I hope they turn out!!! There was a little girl waiting with her mom to tell me hello. She told me I look really pretty. So cute! So yeah, it was probably a highlight of my wedding experience so far. I have never felt so pretty. If anyone wants to see the pictures, you will have to come over or something. I can't post them on here cause Josh can't see them! :)
Oh, and in case anyone is counting... we have 18 Days to Go!

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Okay okay, I know. I'm terrible at updating this month. It's because we have been SO BUSY. HAHA. here is the breakdown of the events so far!
So the first weekend of April we got our invitations sorted out, made some insert cards for the luncheon and ceremony invites, and got everything together for that. The next step was to stuff all the envelopes and get address labels on them. Oddly enough, that took forever! HAHA. So sorry if you all are just getting your invites. :) That weekend we also bought the fabric we needed for the men's vests, and Roelene has done an awesome job so far. I think she has finished two of them, and has just two more. YAY. We also did easter with Kim and Shay and it was really fun. They had a good time.
April 11 was the shower my mom, grandma and sister threw for me. It was a really wonderful shower, and everything was beautiful. Lots of family showed up and I'm so grateful for all of them being there to support me. Thank you!!
April 16 was Josh's birthday, and I was quite upset I didn't get to see him on his actual birthday. But I think I drove him crazy telling him happy birthday so many times. LOL It was great though! I planned a fun surprise for him and got white t-shirts and paint and pictures of the girls. We were going to make t-shirts for him... but he got off early Friday so it was more of a "daddy help make t-shirts" kind of event. :) We also made a yummy dinner Saturday night to celebrate.
Saturday (April 18) we had quite a busy day. We had my neice Velise and nephew Zander's birthday party at Clearfeild Aquatic center... which meant swimming. YAY. We had such a blast and it was a really great party. My sister ended up getting a killer deal cause the place double booked us, so it was awesome. After, we went to Josh's good friend's Ben and Pam's for thier daughter Emmy's birthday party. Ths was also quite a fun party. I got to meet some of Ben's family and we ate some super good hot dogs.
On sunday we took a bunch of picture sof the girls for our guest book, so here are some below. I actually have a few more things to update you all on, but I am about out of time at work. I'll leave you with some pics and them post again tomorrow (about my Bridals!!!)

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Well this weekend went great! We helped surprise Tiffany with David Archuleta tickets, which was really fun! We also got to spend some time with Jamie and visited a flower shop. We went over everything that had to do with the flowers and the cake and really solidified what we are doing with them. I'm really glad we got that done because I don't know if we will see Jamie again before the week of the wedding. We also went and looked at a ton of apartments on Saturday. We found one we really liked, but didn't want to jump on the first deal we came across. We are going to search around this week some more, and if we really can't find a better deal, then we will apply at the ones we saw. They are really cute! We looked yesterday and found a condo in Centerville that is good priced. We are going to see about going to take a look at it as soon as possible. We also visited with Josh's aunt Roelene on Saturday and got all the information needed for the vests. We are going to buy the fabric for them this week and we have about 4 JoAnn coupons already. Anyone have any more?? HAHA. We also stuffed envelopes for our announcements and helped clean the church building before coming home to pay a game of Ticket to Ride - where we kicked butt!!! YAY
On Sunday we went to Josh's cousin Carston's farewell. He doesn't leave for Kentucky until next week, but since it's conference, he had to speak early. LOL. There was a lot of really good food at the luncheon after church, and I was good and didn't let myself have pasta salad. GRRR. Still craving it.... I have been really tired lately, so I took a nap and Josh played a game on the computer. After I woke up, Josh, Tiffany and I played a game of Heroes until about 10:30 and then I had Josh run me home. It was a really good weekend.

Oh, and we have only 42 Days to Go!

Friday, March 27, 2009

Hey Everyone! Time is winding down and we are getting really close to wedding time! I can't even describe what I'm feeling right now. Every girl dreams of the perfect wedding day, and that perfect guy. It's something we dream of for so long that sometimes it seems like it will never come true. That it's just a childish fantasy and we need to forget about it and grow up. But then when it actually happens, it hits you so hard. And you thank God several times daily for this amazing new chapter of your life. Sure, satan and his evil throng of warriors have been trying to tear this apart. He knows what we have is right, and he can't stand that. He has sent warriors to attack us from many angles. But we are not weak. And we will not give in.

Wow, I just got really dooms-day-ish. HAHA. On a lighter note, we are almost done with wedding prep. The Bridesmaid dresses work out PERFECTLY. All my girls ordered thiers and they look so good. I'm so excited! Let me run down a check list to see what else we need to do.

March 3, 2009

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

We got our pictures back!! YAY! Below are a few of my favorites. I'm so excited :)

Alright, now for the update. This past weekend we got SO much done! On Saturday we met my sister at the mall and got ties for the little boys, shoes for all three flower girls, we had my sister try on dresses just to see her size. I found the perfect dress for my bridesmaids:

And I'm hoping it works out! You can only get it on JC Penny online so we ordered a middle size and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. SQUEE!!!! Things are coming together so great!

We also booked our stay at the Lion's Gate Manor in Lava, it's amazing if you want to go check it out. Besides that we just spent time together, watched some movies, and had fun.

So if the Bridesmaid dress idea turns out, the next item of business is flower price matching. Flowers, cake, and then the ceremony are the only things left really. WOW. I can't believe we are so prepared. HAHA. Only 70 more days to go!!!

Thursday, February 26, 2009

Long time, no chat :) Hello everyone! I know, it has been a little while and I'm sorry. But let me get you updated! So back on Feb 7 I had my final dress fitting and it is perfect! I'm so dang excited for Josh to see it. He isn't allowed to peek at it at all, and he promised me he wouldn't try. I want it to be a total surprise to him when he sees me the day of. :) We also had Valentine's day recently and we enjoyed a very nice lunch and then went to the movies. It wasn't anything super fancy, but it was wonderful. Other than that, we really don't have much else of importance happen to share with you all.

Today we have our engagement pictures, and lo and behold, it's supposed to rain. great. Please everyone do a "don't-rain-between-the-hours-of-3:00-to-6:00" dance. I'm so grateful for the moisture, I think that is wonderful. I'm just hoping we are smiled down on and the rain will let up for that small window of time today. I'm so excited for these pictures and I really want them to turn out well.

Well, it's getting closer and we have only a few things left to plan. My grandmother and Josh's mom have been helping me with making the flower girl dresses. They are probably only about 20% done, but this is the hard and slow part. Once we get the bodice and sleeves together, the rest is cake HAHA. We are still on the lookout for bridesmaids dresses. Below is a picture of another kind of idea we had (yellow dresses). Of course I would want them in my wedding colors, but the style of dress is what I wanted to point out. Anyone have any ideas?? Alright, I gotta get going. Love you all! Only 75 days left. YAY!

Photoshoot!!!

January 25, 2009

Sunday, January 25, 2009

Happy Sunday everyone! To keep everyone updated on the last couple weeks.... not too much has gone on. HAHA. Last Saturday I met up with my bridesmaids and we got a LOT done! YAY We talked about dresses and duties and bridal showers. Whoot Whoot! The meeting turned out pretty good, even though I was more than a little nervous. :) Josh has been working a construction job, and he really loves the atmosphere. He found out he has tendonitis in his wrist, so he was out a few days. But he is eager to get back out there this week. He is working with his brother Darin and his brother in law Jordan. There is also a fourth guy named Elon who is Jordan's brother in law. On the site, there is just the four of them each day, and they really have a great time.
I just moved to a different department at work (even though I'm doing the same thing HAHA) and am liking it so far. I'm in a new office with two different coworkers. It's a lot more mature of an office, which I like.... but I miss being with Katie and Samantha. Most of my customer service duties have been taken over by Katie and so all I'm concentrating on is working with clients on booking conference rooms and checking on mail. Our new sister company www.DavinciMeetingRooms.com launches on Tuesday, which has also kept me busy. It's going to be my world once it goes live, and I'm really excited.
Other than that, not too much is going on. 107 Days left to go!!!

Huggles to Amy!

January 3, 2009

Wow, 2009. I can't even believe it, time goes by so fast. Then again, it always seems that way. Especially when you stay as busy as we have. We celebrated 2009 with a bang, going to hang with friends bowling, then back to our friend Cody's house where his parents threw this amazing party. We played ping-pong, air hockey, and hung out until it was time to count down. The whole room had poppers and as soon as the clock hit midnight, we were showered in streamers. We had our first kiss of the new year, took a ton of pictures, and then said goodbye so we could make it home at a reasonable time. It was really a fun night and Josh and I had a blast.
On Saturday Jan 3 we attended a Bridal Expo. It wasn't as large as I expected, but we did pass over all the photographer, reception call, and DJ booths. We got all that taken care of!!! We ran into my friend Emily, she was there with her best friend Kristen who is getting married as well. It was a pretty fun little expo though, even Josh said he didn't mind it. Afterwards we headed to Bed Bath and Beyond to do our registry. HOLY MONKEY! The Fort Union BBB is HUGE!!! HAHA, it was really fun though, picking stuff out with him. Our color scheme for our house is blue brown and green... so keep that in mind if you wanted to know. I'll get a link to our registry up here as soon as I can. After we got done there (3 hours later) Josh said all he needed was some food and he would be more than happy to go to Walmart to do our other registry. Wow, a bride's gotta take what she can get!!! HAHA. We did our registry there too and found a lot of complimentary items to our registry at BBB. sweet :)
Other than that we have just been taking it easy on the wedding front. I'm planning a get together with all my Bridesmaids, which should be really productive. I already have agendas, schedules and task lists printed up. MMMWAAAAHAHAHAHA *evil laugh*. No, no worries, it isn't that bad, and I'm not a Nazi Bride, I promise. I just want to make sure we touch on everything.
Well anyways, I better go figure out how to get these registries up on here. 126 Days to go from today (Jan 6), in case anyone wanted to know!
